It all started with this humble guy Anna Hazare from Ralegan Siddhi (a role model town developed by Anna himself) pledging to fast unto death at the Jantar Mantar in New Delhi unless a lokpal bill was placed in the parliament on 5 April 2011. In matter of hours(thanks to the media), thousands of people of Delhi gathered at the Jantar Mantar in support of Anna. The news had spread to the whole country. As the news spread, tension gripped the UPA government in Delhi. After 4 days of fasting, government accepted to promise Anna's demands(Of course a false promise - We're still far from having one).
Observing the government's ignorance, Anna Hazare decided to organize and indefinite fast until the government this time drafts the bill! Within hours, Within twenty four hours of cabinet's endorsement of a weak Lokpal Bill, over ten thousand people from across the country sent faxes directly to the government demanding a stronger bill.The Mumbai Taxi Men’s Union, comprising over 30,000 taxi drivers supported Hazare’s fast by keeping all taxis off the roads on 16 August.Lawyers of Allahabad High Court described the government proposal as against the national interest and pledged their support to Hazare by hunger striking at Allahabad on 16 August.On 30 July Vishwa Hindu Parishad supported his fast by saying movement for an effective anti-corruption ombudsman needed the people's backing. - Wikipedia
But the same thing happened again. The government made a false promise again without realizing that people had already lost much faith in the government. Anna Hazare fast again for the third time, but he did not get the expected results. But right now, Anna Hazare has teamed up with Baba Ramdev and is fasting in New Delhi.
A ray of Hope. Perhaps.
INDIAN PATRIOTS PARTY VIEW:
The UPA led by Congress has been totally successful in blacking Team Anna's reputation. They've been accused of corruption! In the sense? Kiran Bedi was accused of travelling in second class and the money she saved were donated to an NGO. Well, I wouldn't call that much of a crime. I guess, it should have been the other way round. She should have been applauded for her service. But the government had its chance of defaming her. The innocent public did not care to know more other than what the media (obviously working on the directions of the government) brought out to them.
Similarly, Prashanth Bhushan, and Arvind Kejriwal were also accused by the government.
I hope you might know the incidence of a man hitting Prashanth Bhushan in his office (you can see the video here) The same guy was spotted with Home Minister Chidamaram a few days before. I hope you get what am trying to say. The Government has its resources and has been quite successful in misleading the public.
Patriots! Our country is going in the wrong direction. Lets raise our voice against this ruthless rule! Share this article to as many people you can.
